The Nature of the Crystalline State in Polymers.

Abstract

The polymer research reported here has been primarily concerned with the relationship between the crystallization kinetics and the resultant morphology and properties of the system that is formed. There have been two major areas of concern. One of these involves the properties of systems crystallized either in the bulk or from dilute solution. The other involves studies of different aspects of the mechanisms and kinetics of the crystallization process. Linear polyethylene has been the principal polymer studied and all the work on properties was carried out with molecular weight fractions. (Author)
