Electron Density and Electrical Conductivity of High Temperature Air Seeded with the Alkali and Alkaline Earth Metals,

Abstract

The electron density and electrical conductivity of high temperature air containing various quantities of alkali and alkaline earth metals has been calculated assuming the air metal mixture to be in chemical equilibrium. As an example of these calculations the electron density and the electrical conductivity of two metal-air mixtures have been calculated for a relative air density of 1, and mole fraction of alkali and alkaline earth metals equal to 0.001 and 0.000001, respectively. The results for pure air under the same conditions are presented for comparison. (Author)
