An Investigation of Secondary-Flow Phenomena and Associated Losses in a High-Deflection Turbine Cascade.

Abstract

The report presents precise quantitative data established for the overall flow losses in a high-deflection turbine rotor cascade for a range of aspect ratios h/c from 1.480 to 0.592. The magnitude of the losses due to secondary-flow effects was also determined. From these measurements it was possible to obtain an improved physical description of the complex secondary-flow phenomena. (Author)
