Aquatic Plant Control Program. Controlled-Release Herbicides

Abstract

During the past decade research efforts have been focused primarily on herbicides, and many thousands of new chemicals have been evaluated. From this evaluation, only a few have been successfully applied. The present responsibility of the aquatic weed scientist is to research herbicide application methods that will cause as little harm to the environment as possible. The problem is made extremely complex by many interrelated ecological factors. The program reported herein is an attempt to bring together a number of related phases of the study for a more adequate evaluation of the total problem.
