Reactions of Bis(pentafluoroselenium) Peroxide: Synthesis of Pentafluoroselenium Fluorosulfate and of Bis(pentafluoroselenium) Oxide.

Abstract

When SeF5OOSeF5 is produced by the reaction of fluorine with selenium dioxide a substantial proportion of SeF5OSeF5 is also formed. Bis(pentafluoroselenium) oxide is relatively stable and resists hydrolysis. The new compound, pentafluoroselenium fluorosulfate (SeF5OSO2F), is produced by the reaction of SeF5OOSeF5 with peroxydisulfuryl difluoride (S2O6F2). (Author)
