An Analytic Model for Nuclear Induced D-Region Chemistry.
Abstract
Analytic expressions are developed describing the behavior of the neutral and ion chemistry in the D-region following a nuclear burst. The results obtained using these expressions are compared at various altitudes to the results given by a coupled reaction rate code which numerically solves the differential equations involved. The areas which need improvement are discussed. (Author)
