Dependence of the Enslin Number on the Viscosity of Liquid Components,

Abstract

The influence of viscosity of liquids on the absorbability of a powder was studied. The Enslin no. increased as the viscosity of the liq. decreased. A linear relation is studied between the Enslin number and viscosity when the correlation coefficient changes very suddenly after reaching a threshold value. A practical example of application is described in coating tablets in which the water uptake of already dried layers is reduced when the viscosity of the coating liquid lies above the threshold value.
