The Investigation of Stresses in a Compressor Blade Foil,

Abstract

The paper contains the results of an investigation of stresses in compressor rotors and blades. Specifically, the stresses in dove tail joints (two dimensional problem) and the key end of a compressor blade with a considerable natural twist (three dimensional problem) were evaluated. A model of the rotor was constructed using a special alloy. The stresses between the blade slots on the rotor were measured using an optical polarization method. The distortion of a grid pattern after the test was used to measure the strain. (Author)
