Boundary Layer Control as a Means of Improving Aircraft Maneuverability,

Abstract

As a result of investigations a conclusion is made that for the lift control of an aircraft with the control of boundary layer, an auxiliary rudder of small relative chord, mounted along the trailing edge of wing or flap, can be used. Blowing of the flat air jet can be realized on the flap or directly unto the auxiliary rudder. The results of experimental investigation of the effectiveness of the auxiliary rudder, mounted on a flap, are presented. (Author)
