A Determination of the Optimal Thickness of the Lubricating Film and the Clearance in Hydrodynamic Drawing,

Abstract

Equations for determining the optimum thickness of the lubricant layer and optimum clearance between the blank and die, as functions of lubricant viscosity, drawing rate, and the geometrical dimensions of the drawn items, are presented.
