Tests of the Compositions and Feed Methods of Lubricant-Cooling Fluids during Screw Cutting with Taps,

Abstract

The results of tests showed that one can recommend 1.5% pulverized emulsion of E-2 emulsifier as a lubricating cooling liquid for a screw cutting operation in iron and steel on a multipurpose stand. It is most favorable to produce a thread by screw taps in iron and steel at V=10.2 m/min. It is recommended that pulverization of the emulsion be produced with the aid of the UR-3A device with a design by the Scientific Research Laboratory of Machine Tools and Tools. The expenditure of lubricating cooling liquid is 400 to 600 g/hr and the pressure of the atomized air is 1 kg/square centimeter. (Author)
