Development of VHF 8-Watt Transmitter Type TV-35.

Abstract

The report describes the design, development, and testing of a VHF ground-to-air radio transmitter for the Federal Aviation Administration. The transmitter is intended for remote operation at airport traffic control towers. It produces a vhf carrier that is amplitude-modulated by an external audio signal. The transmitter contains a crystal oscillator with one crystal pretuned to 121.9 MHz, frequency multipliers, a power amplifier, and a self-contained power supply and low-level modulator. Secondary circuits include a multimeter for tuneup and monitoring, and automatic protective circuits for the power amplifier stage. (Author)
