Synergistic Effect of Succinimide and Bisphenol Additives,

Abstract

The study of combinations of succinimides and bisphenols is interesting in view of the effectiveness of mixtures of these additives in motor oils and in view of the insufficient amount of research done on the effect of each of the components when used together. The authors studied a mixture of oil DS-11 with the indicated additives obtaining differential spectra of IR composition absorptions. It was found that the compounds have a synergistic effect on each other.
