Electroosmosis of Two Immiscible Liquids,

Abstract

On the basis of formulas obtained earlier which describe the electroosmosis of two immiscible liquids in a gap capillary, the dependence of a velocity change in the process on the relationship of the viscosities of liquids was investigated. The dependence during three-layered electroosmosis was examined. The velocity of motion of water did not depend on the viscosity of oil. In the case of two-layered electroosmosis the velocities of motion depended both on the relationship of the viscosities of the liquids and on the relationship of the thicknesses of their layers.
