Infant Mortality Screening: A Discussion of Burn-in and Other Screening Techniques,

Abstract

The report is the product of an extensive literature search on the topic of burn-in combined with visits to manufacturing plants to investigate burn-in in use. Because of the nature of the problem investigated, literature on screening in general came under scrutiny and the investigation was not limited to burn-in alone. The discussion reflects this and is concerned with screening techniques. Articles relevant to the phenomenon of infant mortality and the problem of screening for 'early' failures were collected and abstracted in the last section of the report. (Author)
