Synthesis of Organic Compounds for Malaria Chemotherapeutic Studies.

Abstract

The work reported herein consists of investigation in the following areas: Side chain modification study of 9-phenanthrenemethanols, Synthesis of certain aminonaphthalenes (deaza analogs of 6-amino- and 8-aminoquinoline), and Structural modification study of 2-(p-chlorophenyl)-2-(4-piperidyl)tetrahydrofuran. During the present report period, a total of 22 new compounds have been synthesized, characterized, and submitted for antimalarial evaluation. (Author)
