The Use of a System of Geometric Codes in Permanent Memory Units (PZU),
Abstract
The structures of parallel memory units with random access and matrix number unit are studied. Effectiveness is increased using a special geometric coding method of representation of numbers intended for storage. The geometric code of the number means a code produced by conversion of a number represented in binary positional codes of length N with M decoders. Hardware requirements for storage of numbers in geometric codes are calculated. The method suggested is quite flexible and allows the hardware requirements to be minimized in each case by minimizing the address portion, number unit and by using the properties of the number file to be stored. The author's claim that the use of the geometric coding method triples the effectiveness of long term memory units. (Author)
