Combat Capabilities and Quality of Modern Air Defense Weaponry,

Abstract

The article is concerned with the question whether the fighter-interceptor, antiaircraft artillery, and antiaircraft machine guns will have a more important role in the system of present-day air defense in the near future, or will they be completely displaced by ground-to-air missiles. It has not been possible to make a firm decision in the short peacetime period to date. All the real combat values of weapons and other air defense system have not been tested, although it is not likely that any qualitative changes will take place for some time yet. (Author)
