Crystallization in Magnetic and Electrical Fields.

Abstract

Procedures and results of Rochelle Salt, a ferroelectric crystal, growth in electric, magnetic and vibrational fields are presented and discussed. Evidence is given that experiences do not warrant continued effort. Preliminary results on the flux growth of barium ferrite are detailed in order to demonstrate that continued effort could lead to dislocation-free regions. The conclusion is made that highly perfect crystals for microwave applications could be produced. (Author)
