Aluminum Alloy Bearings for Marine Diesels,

Abstract

In order to improve the working surface of insets from aluminum alloys they are covered electrolytically by a soft alloy with a covering thickness of about 15 to 20 micrometers. The most widespread aluminum antifriction alloys are the following: Q09-2, A09-1, A020-1, A09-2B, ASM. Bimetallic and monometallic insets of bearings from antifriction aluminum tin alloys were tested on the 6ChN 25/34 and NVD-36 auxiliary diesels.
