Microwave Breakdown in the Fringing Field of a Rectangular Slot Antenna,

Abstract

A simple mathematical model is developed to predict breakdown in the fringing field of a rectangular aperture antenna in a ground plane. Approximate criteria for the applicability of this model are given and the predictions are compared with previous theory and with experiment. (Author)
