Determination of the Three-Dimensional Frequency Spectra of Photographic Images,

Abstract

The use of a diffraction technique for determining the three dimensional frequency spectra (TFS) of photographic images of various objects usual in amateur photography is described. The TFS data are obtained with the aid of a computer by means of a program based on Fourier transforms of microphotometrically determined optical density distributions in the vicinity of the outlines of the image.
