Parameters of Seismic Blast Waves in Soil in a Zone Similar to a Blast Center,

Abstract

The report presents a study of the effect of shock waves from a controlled burst on the soil and rocks in the immediate vicinity of a burst at a quarry. It details the general equations of shock waves in soils; determination of parameters of seismic waves from a burst; pressure on walls of blasting holes; determination of shock wave parameters in a zone similar to an explosion. It concludes that the results can be used in determining stress, zone of destruction, and deceleration time of the burst effects. (Author)
