Superconductivity and Magnetism of Intercalated and Intermetallic Compounds.

Abstract

The report describes briefly research on the synthesis of new superconducting compounds. The interactions giving rise to their superconductivity have been studied by magnetic, electrical and thermal techniques. The magnetic ordering in a series of rare-earth compounds has also been studied, particularly the interaction of localized 4f levels with the conduction electrons. New calorimetric and optical reflectivity measuring apparatus were developed which make use of silicon chip devices operating at low temperatures. (Author)
