Abstract

The book discloses urgent problems in contemporary processes connected with the violent development of science and technology. The essence and nature of the contemporary scientific and technological revolution are examined; its consequences in conditions of socialism and capitalism are considered. The development of automation, cybernetics, the use of new materials, the mastery of cosmic space, the transformation of science into a direct productive force, etc. are pointed out. In connection with this a critique is presented of bourgeois concepts of the second industrial revolution. (Author)
