A Study of Equations of State/Opacity of Ionized Gases. Volume I.

Abstract

The report discusses the changes that have been made in CAPO since the previous report (AD-722 709). CAPO is a program that calculates the equation-of-state, thermodynamic functions, and opacities of plasmas. In addition reports of the following papers are included: Statistical Model of Incoherent X-ray Scattering, on the Compensation Between the Bound State and Continuum Contribution to the Partition Function, and A Continuum Approximate Treatment of Ionization Potential Lowering.
