Implementation of a Fixed-Base Spin Simulator.

Abstract

The report discusses the design and implementation of a fixed-based spin simulator and the results derived from conducting preliminary spin tests on the simulator. The central piece of equipment in the simulator was a hybrid computer in which the analog computer solved the equations of motion while the digital computer performed the tasks of program control and aerodynamic data storage. The visual display consisted of a computer-drawn picture on a graphics terminal, while pilot control was obtained by use of a simulated cockpit situated in front of the graphics terminal. (Author)
