Health Hazard Potential from Pre-Polymerized Foam Packaging Materials.

Abstract

A practical application was made of a previously described laboratory model, one foot cube to determine the relative health hazards of two proposed foam packaging formulations. One contained toluene, 2,4-di- isocyanate and the other polymethylene di- isocyanate. From the laboratory model quantitative information was obtained on the rate of evaporation and maximum probable exposure to be expected in actual use of the materials. (Author-PL)
