Determining the Natural Components of Meteorological Fields,

Abstract

The article discusses the conditions for obtaining the analytical expressions for eigenvalues and functions (natural orthogonal components) of a homogeneous integral Fredholm equation. Examples for calculating these quantities by numerical methods and their analytical approximations are given. Their similarity confirms the applicability of analytical methods for determining the natural components in meteorology. (Author)
