Analysis of Inpatient Medical Records Procedures, Veterans Administration Hospital, Dallas, Texas.

Abstract

An analysis of the present system for the processing of inpatient medical records to determine the means that will reduce the average record completion time, improve location of specific records, and improve medical record efficiency. Studies of the procedures indicate that the present medical records processing system can be improved by establishing time-oriented controls, issuing standards for use with such controls, and making an organizational change among the sections.
