MRVERA the Multiregion VERA Code.

Abstract

A multiregion VERA code, MRVERA has been developed to solve radiation-hydrodynamic problems in complex geometries as a combination of independent one-dimensional planar, cylindrical, and spherical problems. Radiation and hydrodynamics in the individual regions are calculated with VERA. The subject matter is the mathematical and physical analysis and not the coding. The multiregion is the model assumes that the energy coupling between regions occurs principally as radiation through the void between the regions. This radiation transport is calculated using relativistic view factors to relate fluxes between regions moving in different directions. For radiation making multiple traversals through the void, the relativistic corrections are necessary to conserve energy. (Author)
