Digital Processing of IR Scanner Video.

Abstract

Infrared line-scan video signals, collected during four flights in early summer, were digitally processed and compared with the video data collected during a similar flight in February. The distributions of apparent temperatures were compared to determine whether the diurnal effects were similar for the two seasons; and whether the presence of activity in the target areas studied could be discerned through the seasonal and diurnal effects. Small changes in activity were not readily detected, but relatively large changes produced reliable indications in the processed data. (Author)
