Deformation and Solid Solution Strengthening of BCC Titanium-Vanadium Alloys.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate systematically the effects of oxygen concentration on the deformation of Ti-V alloys and to study the combined effects of the substitutional V additions and interstitial oxygen additions on the thermal and athermal components of the flow stress and on dislocation arrangements. The effect of oxygen content on the critical resolved shear stress of Ti-40 V single crystals was evaluated as a function of temperature. (Author)
