Field Tests of a Device for Rapid Shallow Subsurface Exploration (Tunnel Detection).

Abstract

A new device for locating underground obstacles and tunnels is described. Field tests of an experimental model of this device include measurements taken on soil which contained no obstacles, as well as, data on ground containing a cased and an uncased tunnel. Favorable results obtained for both tunnels are compared to the data taken where no subsurface obstacles were present. (Author)
