Transacylation and Transamidation Reactions in Neat and Dissolved Systems.

Abstract

The report covers investigations of transacylation reactions between carbocylic acids and carbamates and specifically urethan. The scope limitations and some synthetic applications have been studied. A possible mechanism for the reaction is discussed. Another aspect of transacylation, namely the reaction of non-cyclic carboxy anhydrides with amides and specifically acetanilide has been studied. Preliminary results of the kinetic studies of the reaction of organic bromides with benzoin are reported. (Author)
