Experiments with Hypermixing Nozzles in an Area Ratio 23 Ejector.

Abstract

The performance of an inlet area ratio A1/A0 = 23 ejector has been measured at pressure ratios between one and 1.3. No substantial pressure ratio effects were observed over this range. While the inlet conditions were fixed, four different combinations of mixing duct lengths and diffuser lengths were tested. The data indicate an advantage in apportioning most of the total length of the ejector to the diffuser. The longer constant area mixing ducts appeared to degrade ejector performance. Each of the four configurations exhibited the same trend: a general increase in augmentation ratio as the diffuser exit area increased. This tendency persisted up to the diffuser angle at which the diffuser stalled. Thereafter, the performance dropped abruptly. (Author)
