Performance Relationships of a Linear Single-Degree-of-Freedom Flight Simulator Motion System During a Sharp Onset Acceleration Profile.

Abstract

The report examines a sharp acceleration profile representative of the cueing motions provided to crewmembers in flight simulators. A linear single-degree-of-freedom motion is assumed; the relationships among displacement, velocity limit, acceleration onset, and cue duration are determined. Design implications are inferred from the results. (Author)
