Compatibility of Compounded Rubbers Containing the Antioxidants Octamine and Flectol H with High Explosives and Propellants.

Abstract

Compounded rubber samples containing the antioxidants Octamine (reaction product of diphenylamine and diisobutylene) and Flectol H (polymerized 1,2-dihydro-2,2,4-trimethylquinoline) have been tested, and opinions on their compatibility with explosives and propellants are given. The two compounds are satisfactory replacements for phenyl-beta-naphthylamine (PBNA). (Author)
