Investigation of Concrete Materials and Riprap for Use at DeGray Dam,

Abstract

Sands and gravels from four sources, rock cores from five locations, and concrete mixing water from the Caddo River were tested for use at DeGray Dam. The sands and gravels would all be satisfactory for use as concrete aggretages if used with low-alkali cement. All of the coarse aggregates were potentially deleteriously reactive with alkalies. The rock samples were divided into lithologic varieties for examination and testing. (Author)
