NMCSSC Strategic War Gaming Support with the Quick Reacting General War Gaming System (QUICK).
Abstract
The document is intended as a guide for the military strategist desiring to request NMCSSC support in the use of the Quick-Reacting General War Gaming System (QUICK). It identifies each of the CDC 3800 computer of QUICK, describes the information which must be available for effective use of QUICK, and explains the available results. This document is prepared for military strategists involved with the analysis of strategic nuclear forces. Minimal experience with the actual use of computers is assumed. QUICK is a computerized war gaming system designed for the study of potential strategic nuclear war situations. Based upon a suitable data base, and user control parameters, QUICK will generate individual bomber and missile plans applicable to war gaming. The generated plans may be reviewed visually and revised if desired. Subsequently, the planned events can be simulated. Various statistical summaries can be produced to reflect the results of the simulation. A variety of force postures and strategies can be accommodated. (Author)
