A Solid State Ultracentrifuge for Adhesion Testing of Electrodeposits.

Abstract

A magnetically supported ultracentrifuge system was designed especially for the evaluation of the adhesive and cohesive properties of deposited films. This new instrument differs from earlier reported units in two important respects. First, all electronic control and indication functions, except for a single cathode ray tube, have been designed around solid state components; and, second, a single instrument package measuring 24 in. x 60 in. x 60 in. contains the complete ultracentrifuge system including the vacuum pumps required to produce the test chamber environment.
