Hydraulic Model Measurements of Tidal Currents Around Cape Henlopen, Delaware.

Abstract

A small hydraulic model has been constructed for observing and measuring tidal currents around Cape Henlopen, Delaware. Currents are produced in the model by rocking the model. Measurements of the model currents are obtained using photographs of dye injection. Comparisons are made between measurements in the model and prototype measurements taken in the field. Conclusions are drawn on the use of small scale distorted hydraulic models. (Author)
