The Interference of Aliphatic Hydrocarbons in the Detection of Aromatics with MSA Length of Stain Detector Tubes.

Abstract

The interference of aliphatic hydrocarbons with aromatic hydrocarbon determinations made with MSA detector tube no. 93074 were investigated. The aliphatic hydrocarbons react definitely to produce a stain that interferes with measurement of aromatic hydrocarbons. Accuracy of the tubes in determining concentrations of pure aromatics is reported. Recommendations for the use of this detector tube are included. (Author)
