Approximate Confidence Intervals for Coefficients of Variation.

Abstract

A confidence interval (or test) is obtained for the population coefficient of variation. The procedure is based on the jackknife. A Monte Carlo simulation compares it to the chi-square approximation of McKay (JRSS, 1932). An extension to two sample problems and an application is given. (Author)
