Graphs, Tables and Discussion to Aid in the Design and Evaluation of an Acceptance Sampling Procedure Based on Cumulative Sums.

Abstract

The Beattie procedure appears to be well suited for certain acceptance sampling situations. The purpose of the paper is to describe the Beattie procedure, present briefly the underlying mathematics, indicate the strengths and weaknesses of the procedure, and present comprehensive and usable graphs and tables (based on the binomial and Poisson distributions) from which plans of the type desired can be easily determined.
