Montana Large Aperture Seismic Array

Abstract

The report relates to the technical activity associated with the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Montana Large Aperture Seismic Array (LASA) during the period 1 June - 31 August 1972. The short-period (SP) and long-period (LP) seismograph sensitivity performance statistics are indicated. Performance data on the SP seismometer and LP seismic amplifier are presented. Initiation of an array surficial noise study is discussed. Improvement of the operating efficiency of the PDP-7 computers' on-line system program is described. Progress with the installation of the SP channel CTH gain control modification is reported. Statistics relating to the operation and maintenance of the array and data center equipment and land facilities support are provided.
