Abstract

The document describes a method for evaluation of Smoke/Pyrotechnic Signal Operational and Functional Performance Characteristics. Identifies supporting tests, facilities, and equipment required. Provides procedures for preoperational inspection, physical characteristics, safety, personnel training, functional suitability, reliability, durability, reliability, human factors, and value analysis. Applicable to signals in grenade, cartridge, pellet, and fuze configuration to a maximum of 40 MM diameter. Signals may be hand ignited, thrown by hand and/or projected from a hand held or should fired weapon. (Author)
