The Interaction of Inorganic Salts with Clinker Minerals during Hydration,

Abstract

A study was made of the influence of Ca, K, and Na halides and other soluble salts on the hydration of the clinker minerals 3CaO:Al2O3 and 3CaO:SiO2. These compounds increase the degree of hydration of calcium silicates. Apparently these salts do not speed up hardening with calcium hydroaluminates and hydrosilicates.
