On Equations of the Rolling of an Elastic Tire,

Abstract

Analysis of the relationships between the motion of a rolling wheel with an elastic tire and the forces exerted on the tire by the ground, assuming the absence of slippage between the tire and the ground surface. It is demonstrated that the rolling process can be represented by the solution of a boundary value problem for the stress state of the tire without introducing supplementary relationships among the tires' strain components.
