Evaporation of a Water Drop Being Acted upon by a Light Pulse,

Abstract

The dynamics of a water drop evaporated by heating with a laser pulse was investigated using high-speed filming. The curves for dependence of the drop radius on time and those of radius change depending on energy radiation current are in fine agreement with theoretical formulae. The measured values of the explosion threshold of the drops are in close agreement with those estimated.
